Coronavirus Update
27 March 2020
UPDATE 3/27/2020
Beginning March 30, 2020, Saline County has issued a Stay at Home order that ceases all non-essential business activity. Rest assured that Family Animal Care, and all veterinary services, are considered essential framework services. WE WILL STILL BE HERE FOR YOU AND YOUR PET! If you already have a scheduled appointment, your appointment time will stay the same!
Starting March 30th, we will begin curbside services ONLY. When you pull into our parking lot, please remain in your vehicle. A member of our staff will come to your car to take care of you. If your pet requires services, they will be brought inside to have any procedures completed. A staff member will then return the pet to your car and take care of payments, all from the convenience of your vehicle. These procedures are being temporarily put in place to minimize human to human contact and help slow the transmission of COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC. As always, if you have any questions regarding these procedures, feel free to contact us by phone, email, or Facebook message.

Dear Family Animal Care friends,
The steady stream of new information about COVID-19 (coronavirus) has impacted each of us. At Family Animal Care, the health, safety, and wellbeing of our patients, staff, and community is our number one priority. We are committed to continuing to offer a safe and healthy environment in which we can meet the medical needs of your pets. To do this, we are implementing the following procedures moving forward.
First, it is essential that anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, or shortness of breath) or who has traveled internationally in the last 14 days or to an area in the U.S. with high incidence of COVID-19, please call before arrival at the clinic to discuss a plan to minimize any exposure. Rest assured that if you are ill and your pet requires emergency medical care, we have procedures in place to allow us to treat your pet.
[[Second, we are now offering “low contact appointments” upon request. For our clients who request this type of appointment, we will have a staff member come get the pet from your car and bring them inside for treatments and then return them to the car when treatments are complete. We understand that many of our clients would prefer to minimize contact with people and surfaces and our goal is to accommodate these concerns while still providing excellent care for your pets.]]
Please see update above. All appointments after 3/27/2020 will be curbside service.
Third, we have recently set up an online food delivery service through Hills to Home which allows both prescription and non-prescription foods to be purchased online and delivered directly to your door within 1-3 days. We hope that this will alleviate concerns about being able to obtain the needed food for your pets while also complying with self-quarantine recommendations. To register for this program, simply call our office and we will register you for the program.
Finally, many clients are concerned about how COVID-19 may affect their pets. At this time, there is not a direct risk to pets from the virus. Virus particles were isolated from a dog in Hong Kong, but there is no evidence that the dog was ill nor was it able to be transmitted to other humans or animals. The most cautious approach for our pet is to keep them home. If you become ill, have someone else in the household care for your pet if possible and bathe your pets to remove any virus particles from their coat.
At this time, our office remains open with normal business hours. Our staff will be here to continue to offer superior care for your furry family members. As this situation evolves, our services will continue to evolve as well. Please follow Family Animal Care on Facebook for the most up-to-date information.
Sincerely,
Your friends at Family Animal Care
